電車でよく脱毛の広告で目にすることがあると思いますが、一般的に『終わりのある脱毛』と聞いたら永久脱毛と想像するかと思います。実際、某社ホームページでは『限りなく永久脱毛に近い』と謳われています。医療レーザー脱毛の場合、厚労省から認められている使用目的は『レーザーの選択的熱作用による長期的な減毛』であり、もちろん永久脱毛ではないです。では、実際の長期減毛率はどうでしょうか？過去の論文で最も成績が良いものをレーザーごとに挙げてみます。
▶スキンタイプがIV以上の肌にはレーザーを強く当てられないので脱毛効果は弱くなる傾向にあり、減毛率はスキンタイプは依存しそうです。
■ロングパルスアレキサンドライトレーザーの場合（n=20、スキンタイプⅢ-Ⅳ）、4回治療後18ヶ月で､減毛率84.3% （下肢）
■ロングパルスヤグレーザーの場合（n=20、スキンタイプⅢ-Ⅳ）、4回治療後18ヶ月で、減毛率73.6%（下肢）

■波長800nmダイオードレーザーの場合（n=15、スキンタイプⅠ-Ⅴ）、4回治療後12ヶ月で､減毛率84% （腋下）

■IPL（カットオフフィルター波長615, 645又は695nm）の場合、（n=14､スキンタイプⅡ-Ⅳ）、平均3.9回治療後12か月で、減毛率83%（治療部位は様々）

総じて、いずれのレーザーまたはIPLにおいても4回の治療で、減毛率は8割程度といったところでしょうか。少し古いデータとなりますので、実際にはもう少し回数が必要なイメージがありますが、現実的な数字かと思います。
